After the death of Alex Trebek on November 8, 2020, it was revealed that Jennings would be stepping in as guest host!
Although Jennings was honored to take on the role, he assured fans and followers of the show that he is by no means expecting to replace Trebek. "There will only ever be one Alex Trebek", Jennings posted to his Twitter account, "but I am honored to be helping 'Jeopardy!' out with this in January", he finished. Longtime fans of the show were happy with ABC's selection, claiming that they could not have thought of someone better themselves.
