Nothing can keep Enzo Palumbo from fighting his way to the end of any competition. After his second-place win on "Big Brother: All Stars," Palumbo decided to try out another legendary reality show. Earlier this year, Palumbo joined the cast of "The Challenge: USA," a spinoff of MTV's long-running competition, "The Challenge." On the show, Palumbo became known for his resilience, having survived the elimination arena three times before the final challenge.
But sadly, the final challenge proved too much for the New Jersey native. For the first run of the competition, contestants were paired up. The catch was simple: If one person decided to drop out of the competition, that person's partner would also be eliminated. Palumbo was teamed with former "Survivor" contestant Desi Williams, although he withdrew from the competition during the first leg's swimming section due to his newfound fear of water.
"Being thrown in that water, I was already in my head. It's choppy; it's cold. I don't even want to be here ... And my mindset was wrong," Palumbo admitted in an interview with Parade. "I used every ounce of my ability, and it got me to the finals, and I'm proud of that. I hate the way it ended. But I'm a human being; I've got flaws and I've got to work on some things. But I've apologized to Desi."
