So, it's been 12 years now, I can't believe those 3 guys got off Scott free. What say ye Datalounge Sleuths ?

I lived in DC for years and saw all kinds of criminal behavior go unpunished. The police who investigated this crime were incompetent and didn't care. They did not question people who had helpful information on hand.
| by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 5, 2018 4:23 PM |
"Scot free" or "scot-free." Not "Scott free."
| by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 5, 2018 4:33 PM |
There is a sleuth website investigating the murder FASCINATING read !!!
Offsite Link| by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 5, 2018 5:04 PM |
And the police were aided and abetted in their incompetence by the, er, *alleged* killers, who apparently destroyed evidence left and right and left an immaculate crime scene for our boys in blue. The whole thing was a travesty from beginning to end.

Rich white gay DC types always prevail...
| by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 5, 2018 5:46 PM |
I can't even imagine what you mean by that, R6.
| by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 5, 2018 5:48 PM |
I am suprized The Blade even published an update on this. Reminds of me of OJ
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 5, 2018 6:41 PM |
Well, Joe Price a/k/a "Joe Anderson," looks like he got fat. And Zaborsky looks like the typical aging gay white male who has had waaaaay too much botox and surgery. I doubt that he can move a muscle in that face. So, there is that.
I'm surprised that Price wasn't disbarred for his role in the crimes -- the acquittal notwithstanding. I thought that he had been disciplined by the Bar; I assumed it would have been disbarment, but apparently not.
| by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 5, 2018 8:23 PM |
Dylan Ward looks like a sociopath in that picture. I mean really if he showed up as your massage therapist would you be comfortable being naked and alone with him in a room ?
| by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 5, 2018 8:27 PM |
The (alleged) perpetrators live in Florida now.

Sum Ting Wong. Still, after 12 years.
| by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 5, 2018 8:37 PM |
I thought Price/Anderson had been disbarred as well, but maybe the disciplinary action was a suspension from practice rather than a disbarment.

Typical soulless dead eyed DC sociopaths. I have never seen the level of coldness and nastiness I have seen in DC, even in so called "tough " cities like NYC. The people are also weirdly uptight like small town suburbanites, but with all the big city rudeness.
| by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 6, 2018 12:55 AM |
I am curious about their upbringing /childhoods. Did they come from "good" homes? Did they grow up very wealthy?
| by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 6, 2018 12:58 AM |
I live in DC and can't really argue with R21's assessment of our nastiness, although I think soulless dead eyed sociopaths is a little bit over the top.
Oh, wait: this is DL.

R24 While you're at it watch out for the cunty self important DC interns. So much attitude from people who aren't even being paid.
| by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 6, 2018 2:31 AM |
R25 especially the "Becky" types with the bleached blonde hair, strand of pearls and the conservative skirt/jacket get up . I think to myself I could accidentally bump into you while you are going down the stairs of the chronically defective Judiciary Square metro station escalator causing you to fall due to your ill-fitting shoes .
| by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 6, 2018 2:39 AM |
R26 Uh, those cunts are a dime a dozen. They don't seem to realize that they are Not a quarter as intelligent or attractive as mommy and daddy always told them they were.

DC has always been and will continue to be a very evil place. To stay grounded most choose not to live there hence the VA, MD and WV being the suburbs of choice. Many sordid tales happen here involving disappearances and unsolved murders in the gay community. People are brought and sold like slaves. The young dumb handsome muscular types get used by some of the most degenerate people outside of Hollywood. 2 more years I can retire and leave this place.
| by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 6, 2018 1:10 PM |
R31, this is a remarkably ridiculous pronouncement. If this has been your personal experience, I'm sorry for you, but to paint an entire city as Sodom is beyond hyperbolic. Maybe you can take a buyout and leave now.
And btw, assuming there are "WV suburbs" (and there are not) they are a road trip away.
| by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 6, 2018 1:16 PM |
[quote] To stay grounded most choose not to live there hence the VA, MD and WV being the suburbs of choice. Many sordid tales happen here involving disappearances and unsolved murders in the gay community. People are brought and sold like slaves.
That is such utter bullshit. There are tens of thousands of LGBT people who live and work in D.C. -- all without getting murdered or sold into slavery. If any of this nonsense had been taking place do you really think that no one would have noticed. Where are the stories in The Blade or MW or anywhere about these many disappearances and murders in the gay community?
| by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 6, 2018 1:54 PM |
R33 The Blade and MW are financially supported by the individuals and institutions who perpetrate the exploitation.
| by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 6, 2018 1:59 PM |
Stop, what? Criticizing the absurd rantings of a conspiracy theorist? Please, list these many unsolved murders and disappearances and the tales of people being sold into slavery.
Eyeroll.

| by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 8, 2018 1:04 AM |
R31 is off his meds, and almost surely has no inside info on any subject.
| by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 8, 2018 1:12 AM |
I still cant believe they got away with it.
| by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 8, 2018 1:22 AM |
It really is remarkable. There's never been a doubt in anyone's mind that they did it (although debate as to how it was done, and why) and yet they've all gone off to have lives of some sort. I do think it's odd that whatsisname wasn't disbarred, but I guess since he's never been indicted.....
| by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 8, 2018 1:30 AM |
One of them used to be hot, but life happened.
| by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 8, 2018 1:34 AM |
Losing your looks doesn't seem adequate punishment somehow.
Some people actually do get away with murder. But you'd think someone must know something and hasn't come forward. The DC police were pretty corrupt and incompetent (great combination) at the time.
| by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 8, 2018 1:37 AM |
R31 was correct. DC is a truly vile place, though alot of the character spills into the suburbs in my opinion. He's right that the place is more like LA than, say, NYC or Boston. Nastiest major city I have ever been in. What's creepy is how sneaky and hidden alot of the perversions are. In a place like New York the weirdos are more open about it. In DC the biggest freaks are uptight and stodgy on the surface. It's really a very conservative place in alot of ways. The vibe of the place is so passive aggressive and tense. Picture every Type A prick and bitch you grew up with gathered together.
| by Anonymous | reply 47 | August 8, 2018 1:54 AM |
R46 There is a "hard core" segment active in DC , this is just the tip of the iceberg of the heinous things they have been involved in.
| by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 8, 2018 1:56 AM |
R48 sounds a bit like R31. Just a little over the top.
| by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 8, 2018 1:58 AM |
Were the lawyers families well connected or rich? I wonder if there was a bribe involved. DC police are corrupt.
| by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 8, 2018 3:48 AM |
I don't think the families were influential.
| by Anonymous | reply 51 | August 8, 2018 4:39 AM |
How can anyone live with themselves after being party to such a crime !!!!!
| by Anonymous | reply 52 | August 10, 2018 2:44 AM |
They seem not to have any trouble, and I don't understand it either.
| by Anonymous | reply 53 | August 10, 2018 2:57 AM |
I think the suspects' families were all upper middle class. IIRC, Dylan Ward's father was a doctor.
| by Anonymous | reply 54 | August 10, 2018 3:00 AM |
I wonder what they feel about all this. Imagine your adult son is likely guilty of murder and you have to suck it up.
| by Anonymous | reply 55 | August 10, 2018 3:02 AM |
Price did not come from a wealthy family.
Generation Why recently did a podcast on the case.
I have always wondered about the tight timeline and the lack of blood in the body. So handy to control the drugs tested for when almost all blood mysteriously vanished.
Both Price and Zaborsky fathered children with a lesbian couple in Silver Spring. Psychopathy and sociopathy have a genetic component.
RIP, Robert. You deserved better friends.
| by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 10, 2018 3:07 AM |
This is an interesting case but I want to know more about the soulless evil of DC. Is this a controlled/organized thing or just the result of the best and the brightest (and most obnoxious) converging in one place?
| by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 10, 2018 3:11 AM |
I hope Fat Joe has a heart attack.
| by Anonymous | reply 59 | August 10, 2018 3:22 AM |
The hardcore BDSM photos of Price on a law firm laptop is not as unusual for lawyers as you might think. There is a big swinging straight sub-culture, esp among lawyers, politicos, LE and defense contractors. Manafort is a disgusting, abusive prick, but not as much of an outlier as you might think.
Ward was not a natural dom, he read books about it that he highlighted and underlined if I recall correctly.
| by Anonymous | reply 60 | August 10, 2018 3:30 AM |
I love that this lead to general DC bashing. It is a weird place in that it superficially is so conservative and political - yet nasty, passive-aggressive, ambitious people who are totally status conscious and materialistic. A strange amalgamation of American culture - aggressive capitalism and ambition mixed with pseudo-friendliness and diversity. Improved a lot in 20 years, but a creepy ugly. I’ve undernath it all.
The shady story about the rich family in a beautiful DC neighborhood who were held hostage for a weekend and brutally killed and their house burned down is another good example. Never was really explained fully but had something to do with the guys shady business connections.
| by Anonymous | reply 61 | August 10, 2018 4:22 AM |
Washington is Hollywood for ugly people. Of course it’s twisted.
| by Anonymous | reply 62 | August 10, 2018 4:26 AM |
R57 I would say the latter. As strange as it sounds DC is in some ways simply a "brainy " version of LA (shallow, mean, and status conscious ) but lacking any of the soul and culture of southern California. The people are extremely uptight and unfriendly, nothing like NYers, I actually find Washingtonians more intimidating. If you are in a NYers way and don't realize it they'll say "Move, asshole! " and go on with their day. Get in a Washingtonians way and they will give you a frozen dead eyed hate filled glare for about a minute until you figure out what they want. Passive aggressive cunts. Furthermore,by the standards of big cities it is an incredibly bigoted and intolerant place. The average personality is more suburban than Urban.
| by Anonymous | reply 64 | August 10, 2018 5:38 AM |
R57's description of Washingtonians' approach to "move, asshole" is pretty much spot on. As for the rest of it, and all these creepy-crawly statements about "evil," kind of ridiculous.

R64 - great summary appraisal.
| by Anonymous | reply 66 | August 10, 2018 6:02 AM |
My theory is that Ward killed Wone and Price and Zabrosky helped cover it up to save their own butts.
