Former Three 6 Mafia member Gangsta Boo died Sunday. She was 43.
The rapper’s death was confirmed by her label-mate DJ Paul K.O.M., who posted a photo on Instagram of her deejaying in tribute.
Her cause of death is unknown.
Local Memphis, Tenn., outlet Fox 13 reported that Gangsta Boo, whose real name was Lola Mitchell, was found dead around 4 p.m. local time.
Paul’s Instagram post was flooded with condolences, with rapper 2 Chainz commenting, “Mannnn😢.”
Lil Jon added, “MAN WE WAS JUS TOGETHER 3 WEEKS AGO 🥲 REST WELL QUENN 🙏🏽.”
A rep for Gangsta Boo didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

The “Late Night Tip” rapper was the second female member of Three 6 Mafia after K-9. She went on to release various solo albums in addition to appearing in the rap group’s first five studio releases.

After joining Three 6 Mafia in the 1990s, Gangsta Boo left the group in the early 2000s to launch another solo album and numerous mixtapes. She was featured in songs by famous rappers including Gucci Mane, OutKast, The Game and more.
More recently, the Queen of Memphis began working with music outlets such as Uproxx to put out new music and performances. In early December, she shared a video of her live performance of “I’m Fresh” in partnership with the publication.

Just three days ago, Gangsta Boo posted a goofy photo with her friend MJG, writing, “MJG over my erratic behavior 😅 #pressure.”
