Although the billionaire tries to keep private regarding his family life and children, he never shies away from proudly talking about his role in the increasing population in the world. His fans praised his opinion about it in his famous Twitter post about him saving the world from population collapse and how dangerous a collapsing birth rate is. However, Musk has been accused of focusing on the increasing population to land them on Mars. So, now his fans are getting more curious than ever to know how Elon Musk is as a father.
Elon Musk Has Twins With Shivon Zilis
In November 2021, tech mogul Elon Musk welcomed twins with Shivon Zilis, a project director at his Neuralink. It was just a few weeks before he welcomed a baby girl with his girlfriend, the famous singer Grimes. Although little has been known since then, according to The Guardian, a court procedure approved the babies to use their father's last name and contain their mother's last name as a middle name.

Fans were hoping to get some more details when the news came out. However, Elon being a private person, never posted anything on his social media except one random message, which read, "I hope you have big families and congrats to those who already do!" Even though nothing was there on Zili's Instagram account, her followers were even left disappointed. Fans are still eagerly waiting to know the names and gender of the twins.
How Many Children Does Elon Musk Have?
In 2017, Elon Musk seemed concerned about the declining birth rate and tweeted, "The world's population is accelerating towards collapse, but few seem to notice or care." His fans now know his concern is genuine, looking at his growing broods.
Elon is a dad of 10 children, including his firstborn, Nevada Alexander, who died due to sudden infant death syndrome in his 10th week. The tech billionaire welcomed him with his then-wife Canadian author Justine Wilson with whom he had five other children. Twins Griffin and Vivian Musk were born in April 2004 through IVF. Then they had triplet sons Kai, Saxon, and Damian Musk via IVF in January 2006.
According to People, Vivian was the one who filed a request for a name change due to being transgender. Although, it was not known why she did not wish to be related to Elon Musk and filed to take her mother's surname.
After Elon started dating Grimes, she gave birth to their son, X AE A-XII, in May 2020. There was an issue with the baby's initial name X Æ A-12. The couple faced a charge of violation of California law since "Æ" and "12" are not part of the English alphabet. So, the name was changed to X AE A-XII.
Grimes also revealed in March 2022 that she had a baby girl with Elon via surrogate in December 2022.
How Is Elon Musk As A Father?
Elon Musk likes to keep it private, but reporters never seem tired of catching glimpses of his life with his kids. His fans and followers can see many family pictures of Elon with his kids clicked at different places.
According to Newsweek, Musk sees his children from his first wife regularly. Besides, his ex-wife actress Talulah Riley had mentioned in Ashlee Vance's book about Musk that he would try to come home early to attend family dinners with her and the kids and even play computer games with the boys. She stressed that he was devoted to his children and that they saw the kids four times a week.
Even Amber Heard, who dated Musk, gave his fans glimpses of his time with his kid on social media. One of the images even showed Elon having fun with three of his kids on his back.
Musk was seen with baby X on his lap in one of his video calls. He even enjoyed baby X dancing in front of the video. He looked like a dad who was in awe of his little one.

In one of Musk's interviews with the New York Times in July 2020, he was quoted saying, "Babies are just eating and pooping machines, you know? Right now, there's not much I can do. Grimes has a much bigger role than me right now."
He went on to add, "when the kid gets older," saying, "I think [I'll end up] just doing what I've done with my other kids. If I have a trip for Tesla to China, for example, I'll bring the kids with me, and we'll go see the Great Wall, or we take the bullet train from Beijing to Xian and see the Terracotta Warriors."
It seemed that he waited for his babies to grow up so that he could play his role as a father better. Besides, his excitement about going on adventure trips with his kids makes him sound like an ordinary father.
Musk even talked about his kids' education in an interview in 2021 on the audio app Clubhouse. He informed his fans that his kids were educated mainly by YouTube and Reddit. However, in his self-titled book by Vance, he pointed out the importance of reading books for kids.
Elon Musk has been an unconventional parent since he had multiple kids with multiple partners, and his fans know he will continue to do so.
