Many have fond memories of watching Nickelodeon shows as children, especially millennials who grew up with shows like All That, Pete and Pete, and The Amanda Show. Fans watch old Nickelodeon shows for a taste of nostalgia, and there are several Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube accounts dedicated to that nostalgia.

But many of the stars of some of the most iconic Nickelodeon shows do not have the same fond memories. In fact, many of the stars have a huge beef with the network for the things they had to endure while making these shows. These Nickelodeon stars, some of whom are now A-list talent, have some strong words for their former employer.

8 Nat Wolff

Wolff is not bitter about his time on the program The Naked Brothers Band, in fact, he rather enjoyed the role according to his comments in several interviews. However, while he is proud of his work for the network, and despite the fact he enjoyed working on his show, he is not impressed with the rest of the network's programming. "Most of the Nickelodeon shows are pretty bad," he said in an interview in 2014. But he prefaced that by patting himself on the back "The Naked Brothers Band is actually a pretty good show...that show is good!"

7 Devon Werkheiser

The star of Ned's Declassified School Survivor Guide also enjoyed his time at Nickelodeon, however, he does think the network could have done more for him. Werkheiser was not happy that Ned's Declassified was not a bigger hit for the network, at least when compared to most of their other live-action shows. "I thought they could have promoted our show more compared to the other shows that got more attention." Werkheiser went on to say he also wishes the network had used him for more projects after his show ended, the way they had with actors like Drake Bell and Josh Peck, or Kenan and Kel.

6 Alexa Nikolas

Britney Spears' younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, became a Nickelodeon staple after she joined the cast of All That for its final two seasons. Then, like several other All That stars, she got her own show, Zoey 101. The show was rather successful, but there might have been some drama going on behind the scenes. One of the show's stars was Alexa Nikolas, who played Spears' BFF on Zoey 101. In an Instagram post in 2015, Nikolas threw shade at Spears saying "We share the same birthday, but not the same personality, thank god!" She then proceeded to call Spears mean, rude, and that she "sucks." According to Nikolas, Spears was bullying her behind the scenes and the network did nothing to interfere.

5 Ariana Grande

One might think that since she is now an internationally beloved performer that Grande wouldn't care at all about her old network. They would be wrong. Although Ariana Grande rarely talks about her time on Nickelodeon, she has said her time with the network was "frustrating," because she was so attached to her characters on Sam and Cat and Victorious. It would seem the now $200 million pop star did not feel that Nickelodeon was using her to the best of her ability. While this is not the meanest clap back from an ex-Nick star, it is still not a flattering review for the network.

4 Angelique Bates

Bates was one of the first stars of All That and a member of the show's debut cast. While the on-screen antics showed a fun-loving group of friends, Bates' life behind the scenes was much darker. While Bates was doing All That she was also enduring abuse from her mother. Bates claims that sometimes her mother would abuse her on the All That set in the presence of Nickelodeon executives and producers, who did nothing to interfere. Bates never forgot this slight and for years afterward she avoided All That reunions and shows. She eventually put her past behind her and began to meet up with her fellow cast mates, and while she is not shy about talking about the abuse she suffered, she has kinder words for the network than she had in the past.

3 Gabriel Iglesias

Many forget that the famous fluffy comedian was a cast member of All That for one season. Iglesias has not spoken up much about his time on the network, and the times he has said anything did not paint a pleasant picture. In an interview with Nick Cannon, another Nickelodeon alum, Iglesias opened up about how he felt the network failed to take care of him at important times, like a time when he was injured on set.

2 Nick Cannon

In the same interview with Iglesias, Nick Cannon was also quick to criticize Nickelodeon. Cannon was not a fan of how the network was quick to put him and Iglesias in drag, saying that it was "emasculating." He also confirmed Iglasias' stories about how the network was more concerned with protecting themselves legally than with helping Iglesias, and others, when they were injured on the set.

1 Jennette McCurdy

McCurdy has not been silent about her time on Nickelodeon at all, especially about the treatment she endured from Dan Schnieder, one of Nickelodeon's former most prominent showrunners. Schnieder has been accused of inappropriate behavior with minors, and of having some very unsettling fetishes. McCurdy called out Schnieder when he denied the allegations, saying that he was a liar. She also blasted the network for covering for him for so long, even though they terminated his contract in 2016. McCurdy also never forgave the network because, according to her, Ariana Grande was getting paid more than her when they were shooting Sam and Cat.
