Taylor Lautner’s career really took off after he was cast as werewolf Jacob Black in the Twilight franchise. The actor may have played some unforgettable roles before that (he was Sharkboy in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D for starters) but he’s still more recognized for his time in the Twilight movies. That’s the case even today.RELATED: Do Fans Still Think Taylor Lautner Is As Hot As He Was In His ‘Twilight’ Days?Meanwhile, after Twilight, Lautner kept busy. In recent years, the actor starred in various films. And from time to time, he ventured into episodic projects too. And with his time in the Twilight franchise and all the hard work he’s put in since, it’s no wonder Lautner is worth a whole lot of money today.

Taylor Lautner Booked Other TV And Film Projects Since His ‘Twilight’ Debut

Upon gaining fame due to Twilight, Lautner found himself booking roles left and right. In fact, he booked a role in the ensemble rom-com Valentine’s Day where he shared scenes with ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift. Later on, Lautner also starred in films like Abduction, Run the Tide, and Tracers among others.

Meanwhile, over the years, the actor also ventured into television from time to time. For starters, Lautner landed a role in the comedy-horror Scream Queens.

While working on the show, the actor revealed that he had to get used to a more spontaneous type of filmmaking, telling ET Canada that the creatives behind the show only let him know “enough about the character, but they stop it right there.”

Soon after, the actor landed a role in the British comedy Cuckoo. “In my head it kind of made no sense and that’s why it made perfect sense,” Lautner told GMA of the Project. “Well, it took me a second to get used to their sort of humor. It's a little more sarcastic, a little more dry [sic].”

In Recent Years, Taylor Lautner Has Had A Constant Collaborator

Ever since his stint in the Twilight franchise ended, Lautner has starred in a number of films produced by comedian Adam Sandler. The two met after the Twilight star did a cameo in the 2013 film Grown Ups 2, which also stars Kevin James, Chris Rock, Salma Hayek, David Spade, and Maya Rudolph.

And even when Lautner had already done so many films himself, the actor admitted that being around so much star power was still quite overwhelming.

“I loved. I was very intimidated…,” Lautner told Games Radar. “But, I mean, it’s why I wanted to do it. I mean, these guys and Salma, they’re the best at what they do, and it was a huge learning experience for me. I mean, it’s an absolute blast.”

The actor even added, “We don’t laugh this much on the Twilight sets.”

Meanwhile, Sandler was quite impressed by the following that Lautner had amassed from his Twilight days.

“We all loved [Lautner] and, you know, just like anybody, we were a little intimidated to meet old Taylor, too, ‘cause the sound he brings with him,” the comedian remarked. “Wherever he shows up there’s a giant crowd of high-pitched screaming and happiness.”

Just a few years later, Lautner’s collaboration with Sandler continued. This time, he joined the cast of Sandler’s Netflix film The Ridiculous 6. As it turns out, however, Lautner almost turned the comedian down upon seeing the script.

“I read the script and it absolutely terrified me and the role terrified me,” the actor told Ryan Seacrest. “My role is pretty out there- he's a total country bumpkin - so I said to myself, if I just go for this and don't hold back, what could go wrong?”

Later on, Lautner also joined the cast of the Netflix film Home Team, which is also produced by Sandler. As fans may have expected, the actor was, once again, very happy to be back in the company of Sandler and the comedian’s Madison Productions.

“No of their projects feel like work. It was like summer camp, and all of them involved are very good people, so I will say yes to a Happy Madison project for the rest of my life,” Lautner told Game-News 24. “But it was so hard to get to this place.”

Here’s Where Taylor Lautner’s Net Worth Stands Today

According to estimates, Lautner is worth around $40 to $50 million today. It’s safe to say that much of the actor’s wealth comes from his time in the Twilight franchise.

Lautner and co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson may have only been paid $1 million each for the first film. However, reports indicate that they each earned $25 million each for their work in the Breaking Dawn films.

On top of the talent fees, it is also believed that Lautner, Stewart, and Pattinson each received some backend compensation from the films. Reports indicate the main stars were paid around 7.5 percent of the total gross. In addition, it also stands to reason that Lautner, and his co-stars receive royalties from the franchise even today.

Meanwhile, as far as brand partnerships go, Lautner was named a brand ambassador for the Philippine brand Bench several years ago. Since then, however, it seems the actor hasn’t entered into any other endorsement deals.

At the moment, Lautner doesn’t appear to have any upcoming films or tv projects following Home Team. Perhaps, the actor is just taking a little break. After all, he’s earned it.
