The Premier Ball (Japanese: プレミアボール Premier Ball) is a type of Poké Ball introduced in Generation III. It can be used to catch a wild Pokémon. It was developed by the Devon Corporation.

When used from the Bag in a wild encounter, it attempts to catch the wild Pokémon with a catch rate modifier of 1×.

If used on an Ultra Beast, the catch rate modifier is instead always set to 410/4096× (~0.1×).

The Premier Ball cannot be used in situations in which Poké Balls cannot be used, such as in wild battles with two or more opponents currently present or against a trial Pokémon. If used in a Trainer battle (except if used as a Snag Ball on a Shadow Pokémon), the opposing Trainer will deflect it, wasting the player's turn (as well as the ball prior to Generation IV). If used on the ghost Marowak, it will dodge it, wasting the ball.

Fling fails if the user is holding a Premier Ball.

A Premier Ball in Pokémon GO

The Premier Ball is a special item exclusively used during the bonus challenges of Raid Battles and Team GO Rocket battles. Premier Balls are never put into the player's Bag; at the end of a challenge, any unused Premier Balls are discarded.

The Premier Ball's catch rate is $1.05^{N}$ , where $N$ is the number of Premier Balls that have already been used in the bonus challenge. The catch rate modifier starts at 1× (where $N=0$ ), like the standard Poké Ball, and geometrically increases after each throw. It's currently uncertain if the catch rate multiplier is capped at a fixed, maximum value.^[1]

For all encounters that involve using Premier Balls, Shiny Pokémon have a 100% catch rate. In addition, all Shadow Pokémon left by Giovanni are guaranteed captures.

For Raid Battles, the Premier Ball is used to catch the defeated Raid Boss. The number of Premier Balls awarded is based on:

The player's damage contribution in the raid.
The alignment of the Gym (except Shadow Raids).
The highest Friendship level with another participant.
The time taken to complete the raid (except Mega and Primal Raids).

For Team GO Rocket battles, Premier Balls are used to rescue Shadow Pokémon. The number of Premier Balls awarded is based on:

The number of Pokémon the player has remaining.
The ranks of the Hero and Purifier medals.

A Premier Ball appeared in Which One ~ Is It?, a Japanese ending theme from Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl.

In A Frenzied Factory Fiasco!, a Premier Ball was seen at the Poké Ball Factory.

In Rising from the Ruins!, Gladion was revealed to keep his Silvally (then a Type: Null) in a Premier Ball.

In Acting True to Form!, a Premier Ball appeared as a part of James's Poké Ball collection. It reappeared in Splash, Dash, and Smash for the Crown!. In Radio Lulled the Mischievous Stars!, this Premier Ball was offered as a prize during Team Rocket's radio show, being eventually won by Ren.

Like in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Clavell is seen wearing Premier Balls during Pokémon Horizons: The Series, as first seen in HZ046.

A Premier Ball first appeared in A Sketchy Smattering of Smeargle while Emerald was thinking which of his Poké Balls he should use to catch Jirachi.
