Tab Hunter was the prototypical Ken doll.

I remember there was a blond model featured in Playgirl in the late 80s and early 90s who looked very much like a 'Ken Doll'. I can't recall his name, but he was beautiful from head-to-toe. In one issue (I think it was 1991) he played a pilgrim in one of the fantasy scenes.

Rumor had it that shortly after he was posing for Playgirl, he did 'gay for pay' in videos, knowing he developed a huge gay following through the magazien. And then left the industry all together by the mid-90s and joined a religious cult...taking his handsome face an unbelievable body with him.

R27, I came here to add him. He is the undisputed King of Jumping the Shark, but really was the Ken doll of the 80s and early 90s even if his blondness was more Sun-In than Ken.

R30 He was very well-cast and funny on Married with Children and written as a dumb blond himbo (basically the male version of Peggy and Kelly) but with a darker side. He should be grateful that MWC had top-notch writers to make use of him.
