You wouldn't be wrong if it feels like Jennifer Lopez is perpetually in a wedding dress. Between her movie Marry Me with Owen Wilson and Maluma and her real-life wedding to Ben Affleck, adding in her newest movie Shotgun Wedding, the entertainer has been in a white dress for more than a year.
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, JLo said, "I didn't plan any of it this way. I mean, Marry Me—we wound up filming it, like, right before the pandemic happened, and then they held onto that for a year and a half—and Shotgun Wedding, that was the first one I did when people started filming again."
But, when all is said and done, did JLo and her Shotgun Wedding costar, Josh Duhamel, get along off the set? We're here to break it down for you.
How Jennifer Lopez And Josh Duhamel Really Felt About Working With Each Other In Shotgun Wedding
Shotgun Wedding premiered on Amazon Prime Video on December 28th, 2022. The movie is about a couple, Tom [Duhamel] and Darcy [Lopez], and their families, who all gather on a private island to see the pair get married. But, just as the two are arguing about their wedding, right before they are set to say their vows, their families and guest are taken hostage by pirates who are demanding $45 million from Dacry's wealthy father.
Shotgun Wedding is an action-packed romantic comedy. While describing her experience, Lopez said, "I had to get my inner Lucile Ball on for this; you know what I mean? It's more hijinks, more kind of raw-the action added a whole other element to it."
But Duhamel and Lopez both agree the most critical part of their new film is their on-screen chemistry. "I couldn't have gotten luckier to have the most amazing leading man who could do the comedy, do the action, and really nail the emotional stuff," Lopez said, gushing about Duhamel.
"We always said, it was Josh's line to me on our first call that we did, it was like if people don't believe us together, none of this works," she continues.
Lopez added, "It was one of those things where everything came together. And then we had this really big expensive supporting cast, amazing stars and comedians, that were supporting us."
The duo had a leg-up because, according to Duhamel, they already knew one another before starring in Shotgun Wedding. "I had known her for years, but I had never had a chance to work with her." He continued, "I mean, she's super professional, she's a lot of fun, she's funny, and we just clicked right off the bat."
When asked about his on-screen partner, Duhamel had nothing but wonderful things to say about Lopez, "She is a force of nature, that girl." Adding, "She's a lot of fun to work with."

The Star-Studded Cast of Shotgun Wedding
One fun part of this film, among many others, is the all-star cast. Not only does it star Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel. But also Lenny Kravitz and Jennifer Coolidge.
Coolidge, who recently won a Golden Globe for her role in HBO Max's The White Lotus, starred as Duhamel's hilariously aloof mother. Duhamel, when speaking about Coolidge and his experience working with her, said:
"I'm a huge fan. She is a wonderful person to have around the set. She's very chill." He adds how he has been a fan of hers since her Seinfeld days.

When it came to Coolidge's character and the outlandish way she acts, Duhamel said, "What I'll never forget about working with Jennifer was that we didn't know if she was, like, doing it on purpose or if it was like a part of her thing—it's almost like an Andy Kaufman thing."
He adds, "It makes everybody feel like we need another take, and she's like, 'No, I'm good.' And then you see it, and it's brilliant—She's one of those enigmas."
Did The Rest Of The Cast In Shotgun Wedding Get Along?
When so many powerhouse actors are working together, we can't help but be curious and want to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the cast got along.
Taking to Instagram to express his love and appreciation for JLo, Kravitz posted a photo of himself and the actress on the set of the movie. He captioned the picture: "Jennifer, after knowing each other for so many years, we finally got to work and be creative together. It was an experience that I will always cherish. Love and respect. Xxx #ShotgunWedding"
Furthermore, Coolidge joined TikTok while promoting the movie. Her first post included her reading her favorite poem.
The video starts with Coolidge saying, "Hi, this is my first TikTok, and I was trying to think of something cool to do." She adds, "I think I'm just gonna do a poem that I like." The actress then proceeds to talk out Lopez's song "Jenny From the Block" before cutting to the singer sitting next to her. Lopez adds, "I like that—I really, really like that."
The cast, funny in the movie and in real life, seems to have gotten along swimmingly. Shotgun Wedding is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
