It's no secret that the stars of the hit NBC sitcom Will & Grace adore each other. Debra Messing and Eric McCormack have been great friends for years offscreen just like they were great friends onscreen. 6 Eric McCormack And Debra Messing Go Out To Dinner Together And Freak People Out

On the Today show in 2013, before the reboot of Will & Grace, Messing stated that the two "go out to dinner together and freak people out." This statement proves that the two hang out whenever they can even when they aren't working together. Obviously, fans of the show who see the two of them out to dinner together would freak out. Who wouldn't? "The few times we have [gotten together] in New York, it's usually just [Debra] and I having dinner and we don't even make a reservation," McCormack told Us Weekly. "We just kind of walk in, and there's always at least one waiter kind of dropping something, going 'Am I on TV? Is this real?'"

5 Eric McCormack And Debra Messing Are Very Comfortable With Each Other

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly after the duo did a reunion photoshoot for the magazine, Messing stated that in one of the shots they got, they were both nearly naked. "We're very comfortable with each other. After nearly a decade working together, we have a shorthand that will always be there." The interactions between the two over the years have definitely shown fans that they are very comfortable with each other. In fact, they did do a scene in the early days of Will & Grace where Will had to cover up Grace's breasts when she was wearing the leaking water bra. Surely filming that scene bonded them for life.

4 Eric McCormack And Debra Messing Trust Each Other More Than Anyone

When Messing made an appearance on the Today show to talk about McCormack's appearance on her NBC series Mysteries of Laura, she said that they were playing "completely different characters" to the ones they played on Will & Grace and that it was also a "completely different genre." However, "as soon as we started it was like 'oh my gosh, you are the person I trust more than anybody in the world.' We did that for eight years." It's wonderful that the two are so close that they can trust each other so much.

3 Debra Laughed At Eric's Joke During Her Audition

Messing and McCormack first met when the producers were searching for a Grace. They met at James Burrows's house and Messing was the third and final woman they were auditioning for the role that day, as McCormack had already been given the part of Will. McCormack said that he said something funny and then Debra "laughed that big Grace laugh and even before we started the scene I think everybody in the room went 'ah, this is it.' It's the one thing no other actress had done yet, was just enjoyed being with Will. That was kind of the key. We hit it off in the beginning."

2 Eric Called Debra Smoking Hot On Her 50th Birthday

On Messing's 50th birthday, she had to work and film an episode of Will & Grace. Her co-star, McCormack, told the crowd that it was her birthday by saying that when he started doing the show, he had a "29-year-old smoking hot co-star" and that now he had a 50-year-old "smoking hot" co-star. He then got the crowd along with the cast and crew to sing her "Happy Birthday." Messing told Rachael Ray on her talk show that the moment was "really sweet" since she had to work on her birthday and didn't get a chance to celebrate on the day.

1 Eric McCormack And Debra Messing Love Each Other

McCormack flew into New York for 28 hours to surprise Messing at her show, Birthday Candles, on Broadway. They both posted about it on Instagram, where Messing said "What a joy! What a shock! What a delight!" She then added, "I love you E!" McCormack commented on her post and said "And you were fantastic, Deb. Loved the show! And love you back!" McCormack posted on his Instagram that the cast did a "beautiful job" and that he got to spend an amazing afternoon seeing his "dearest Debra." It's great that the two support each other's work and help promote it on social media.
