New Netflix doco. Weird case of a man calling fast food restaurants posing as a cop convincingly enough to get managers to strip search employees.

That was a Law & Order episode!

I'm watching the 3rd episode right now.

Some of these went WAY farther than a strip search.

Weird how some people with common sense recognized it was bullshit very quickly, while others just followed orders given over the phone from a total stranger, up to and including rape.

I remember the story — so glad you posted this, thank you. I will definitely be watching.

A movie based on this called Compliance was good.

I watched this last night and was dumbfounded. Who would go along with this?

What's mind boggling is the fact that none of the companies sent out warnings to all their locations warning of the hoax. It would have been so simple to post a corporate wide memo and send to all franchises to post.

It was heartbreaking to listen to that blond woman speak about what happened, she seemed so normal and not stupid at all.

I can't believe the jury found the guy not guilty.

I guessed early on he was a wannabe cop with fantasies about controlling others. He was obviously well read on psychology too.

It was disturbing to see the cctv footage.

Those managers participating in the strip searches wanted to do that shit. I don't buy that they were coerced into it. Please!

A fucking voice on the phone claiming to be a cop directs you to sexually assault your employee. Give me a fuckin' break.

Here's the trailer from Compliance. It was the movie that brought Ann Dowd to the forefront. She hasn't stoppeed working since.

People can be stupid. I'm still amazed that people would think they'd have to go along with this, though.

The guy that followed instructions to force the girl into giving him a blow job definitely wanted to. He could have stopped and said "wait a minute, this is crazy" and hung up the phone.

The blow job guy did get jail time.

I bet that all the people who got duped later became trump supporters and the ones who did not follow did not. .

Wasn't the female manager's husband the one who forced the girl to do the blow job? How did that affect the marriage, I wonder?

R13, the jury found him not guilty because there wasn’t sufficient evidence to link him to the calls.

That’s because the keystone kops who investigated this immediately confronted him when he was identified as the man in the store surveillance videos, instead of surveilling him.

R25 he went to jail for a bit and I don't think she married him.
