The DCEU has been unleashing a barrage of big screen offerings for years now, and the franchise has big things on the horizon. Sure, they've had their share of problems, but their movies make bank, and there is hope that they can right the ship sooner rather than later.

Ezra Miller is the Flash in the franchise, and they've made several notable DCEU appearances. Things, however, have been going off the rails for Miller, who can't seem to stay out of legal trouble.

Let's take a look at what's going on with Miller and what DC might do with them in the near future.

Ezra Miller Is The DCEU's Flash

October 2014 marked a momentous occasion for the DCEU, as the big screen franchise tabbed Ezra Miller to play the Flash. The Scarlet Speedster is an iconic hero, and Miller was set to do great things in the franchise.

Two years later, Miller made their debut in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, giving people a small taste of what was to come. That same year, Miller had a cameo in Suicide Squad, and just like that, they had two appearances in the franchise.

Since those appearances, Miller has only appeared in both Justice League and Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Next year, Miller will be starring in the long-awaited DCEU film, The Flash. The project has been on tap for years, and it's had a litany of problems during the production process. At long last, fans will get to see Miller's standalone film.

While Miller has been a good fit for the character, they've encountered a string of legal troubles that have made headlines.

They've Had A String Of Incidents

In April, Yahoo laid out the series of legal troubles that Ezra Miller has dealt with, and seeing them all listed out really paints a picture of how bad things have gotten for the performer.

Things kicked off in 2020 when Miller was "captured on video appearing to choke a woman in a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland." From there, the actor made threats, and then the infamous was arrested in Hawaii after "Hawaii Police Department officers respond to reports of a disorderly bar patron in South Hilo, Hawaii, later identified as Miller. The actor is alleged to have gotten "agitated" during a karaoke rendition of Lady Gaga's A Star is Born anthem, "Shallow," and reportedly tried to grab the mic from one woman before lunging at a man playing darts."

Those incidents alone were more than enough to get people worried about Miller and their future in entertainment, but things did not end there.

On June 8th, serious accusations were levied against Miller.

"The parents of 18-year-old Tokata Iron Eyes claim in court documents that Miller began grooming their daughter at age 12 and supplied Tokata with alcohol, marijuana and LSD," Yahoo reports.

Things are clearly spiraling into a dark place for the performer, and it has some wondering what their future with DC looks like.

Is DC Keeping Them Long Term?

As it stands now, Ezra Miller will remain in The Flash.

"With “The Flash,” insiders say it would not be possible to replace Miller without reshooting the entire movie. They are in just about every scene, and there is not enough digital technology in existence to configure that magic without going back to square one. And redoing the entire film is not a realistic proposition for any movie — much less one that wrapped production months ago and already cost hundreds of millions," Variety reports.

Beyond that, there seems to be some belief that Miller's time as Barry Allen could be coming to a close.

According to Rolling Stone, "On March 30, Warner Bros. and DC executives held an emergency impromptu meeting to discuss Ezra Miller’s future with the studio following The Flash star’s recent arrest for disorderly conduct and harassment. According to a knowledgeable source, the consensus in the room was to hit pause on any future projects involving Miller including possible appearances in the DC Extended Universe."

If Miller is cast aside, then it'll be interesting to see what the studio does for the beloved character. They could slide Grant Gustin into the role since he's playing the same character on TV. They could also pivot to a different version of the Flash altogether.

Ezra Miller has caused some major problems for theirself and for DC, so here's hoping that Miller can get their life back on track soon.
