He also leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Jacqui, his parents, Andy (Shelly) Blizzard and Jean (Bo) Abbott, and his brothers, Adam and Nathan Blizzard. David’s grandparents, Billie Martinez, Robert Denslow, and Sue Ecker, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins, cherished him deeply and will hold his memory close. However, the family is no stranger to loss, having been preceded in death by David’s sister, Mellissa Blizzard, and his grandfather, Louis Ecker.

He devoted four years of his life to the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Field Radio Operator in the 3rd AABN amphibious assault battalion during the Iraq War in 2003. He served with pride alongside his USMC brothers and sisters, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the honor of serving with him.
Beyond his military service, David’s life was enriched by his passions and the love he had for his family. He found joy in sharing experiences with his children, often joining them in exhilarating rides on dirt bikes and mountain bikes. Their laughter and shared adventures will be cherished memories. David was also an avid reader who enjoyed listening to audiobooks and immersing himself in the world of fantasy through role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. His friendships in Kalamazoo, formed through these shared interests, were a testament to his warm and welcoming personality.
