Bill Simpson Obituary, Death Cause – In a moment of profound sadness, the family of Mr. Bill Simpson shares the heartbreaking news of his peaceful passing on December 27, 2023, at the age of 94. A true Dysart gentleman, Bill was a much-loved dad, grandad, and great grandad, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Bill’s departure from this world occurred in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the loving and devoted husband to the late Jean (née Carrington) and a cherished father to Marilyn and the late Billy (Bay). As an amazing grandfather and great grandfather, Bill’s presence brought joy and love to the lives of his family, who adored him. In addition to being a pillar of strength within his family, Bill was also a good friend to many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

The funeral service to honor Bill’s life will be held at Kirkcaldy Crematorium on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. All family and friends are respectfully invited to join in commemorating the life of this remarkable man. Following the service, the family extends an invitation to the Strathearn Hotel, where light refreshments will be served, providing an opportunity to share stories and fond memories of Bill.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Bill to Marie Curie, a cause close to their hearts. “Bill was our champion, rock, and soul mate. He was the person that kept all our feet on the ground.” His brilliant sense of humor and his ability to connect with everyone endeared him to many. In his youth, Bill was a great sportsman, but his love for all things Dysart and sailing was well-known.

His strength in adversity was an inspiration to all who knew him. Bill’s final journey will be a poignant one, as his ashes will be scattered from Dysart Pier, where he will join his beloved wife, Jean. The route will take him through the familiar streets of Dysart, including the High Street where he lived for so many years, and the beloved Dysart harbour, a testament to the deep connection he held with his hometown.

In remembering Mr. Bill Simpson, Dysart bids farewell to a true gentleman whose legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness, humor, and enduring spirit. May he rest in eternal peace.
