R443 I have previously spoken about my assessment of accountability, but if you want it one more time, I will attempt again..
Accountability would have meant owning up to having done wrong, or if there was a legitimate explanation (or yes even belief) why it wasn't wrong, correcting with that. It's the right thing to do in a cohesive society. The most important reason for that owning to happen is because it should be a learning moment. A reset, and then we move on. It's a moment where you acknowledge and accept you did something wrong, and that acknowledgment and learning hopefully means you won't do it again. That's the "power" of accountability and why I wanted it.
Ben never acknowledged or explained a wrong. He instead doubles down in ways that make me think he either doesn't believe he did anything wrong, or doesn't believe accountability applies to him cause he just wants to be happy all the time and fulfill his dreams and desires and be loved and (vomit). Which means to me he possibly hasn't learned a damned thing about Covid.
Here is just an example of my worries/view point. This pic is not his crafted public version of himself. He knows how to act responsibly when he poses for those. It's a candid shot. The girl behind Roger is facing the other way, but otherwise every single person in the pic, including the one behind Chloe, is properly wearing their mask. Ben's is half off. Now are there possible explanations? Yes. For example, he was filming and kissing Evan in that video. Is he trusting a negative test here? Of course that's possible, and if he had shown he learned from Montanagate that would have been my assumption (though I would have found it strange he has one on but half off at all.. do you think/worry you're safe or don't you? Weird mixed messages..). Since he didn't show he learned anything, I can't trust that he's definitely being completely safe here and I have to wonder and worry that he's not.
(Other possible points, he was wearing a mask in the sightseeing in Bath video. If that was his dad with him, well maybe he was just making sure he kept him safe? I mean did he just artfully hide the mask for the Reminiscence pic with Lisa Joy? How about originally doing that Calgary con in two weeks, were masks required by all participants or would he have gone maskless the whole time? It's the presence of doubt and the fact that he does nothing to try to "erase" it for me.)
My fear/objection is that he didn't learn and will continue to make the same mistakes and continue to potentially put other people at risk in his ignorance, thereby furthering the world's problem, and that's why I continue to call out his covidiocy. Because it's a big problem that's seemingly only increasing in the world these days, and I hate that he (and others, but this is a Ben thread) contributes to that.
