The Bachelorette runner-up Ben Smith is shutting down rumors that he may be the next Bachelor.

According to E!, the former Season 16 contestant had fans wondering if he had any intentions of finding love again on the reality dating show, but as the Bachelor this time. However, while appearing on Kaitlyn Bristowe's Off the Vine podcast, he made it clear that fans won't be seeing him giving out any roses, and that he never even watched the show before he was cast.

However, Smith assured his fans that he still did want to find true love while on the dating show. He told Bristowe that he wanted to be apart of The Bachelorette because "something might happen that's great," adding, "I never had any intentions of doing anything more."

Smith was rejected by Tayshia Adams on The Bachelorette when she sent him home after hometown visits. He was given a second chance, but he eventually got cut in the finale, with Zac Clark winding up proposing to Adams in the end.

While Smith admitted that he believed Adams would pick him in the end, he shared with Nick Viall on The Viall Files podcast that he is still very grateful for the opportunity.

"I have this peace around the whole experience, and holy cow, I came out of that with so much growth and so much experience. And I'm a newer, better, more complete version of myself, and so I'm incredibly thankful and happy." Smith shared.
