Allison Williams Defends Her Father Brian Williams

"Girls" star Allison Williams is defending her father, news anchor Brian Williams, who was suspended without pay last week from NBC after he admitted he fabricated a story about his time covering the war in Iraq in 2003.

In an interview with Seth Meyers at the 92nd Street Y on Wednesday night, the 26-year-old actress addressed her father's scandal for the first time.

That said, it doesn't change my opinion of him. I don't care what his relationship is like with her.

I only care about the FACT that he was caught lying several times, and often times about the same lie.

I'm sick of other celebs trying to make us feel bad for a celeb involved in a scandal. Whenever a non-famous person makes the news for something like this, everyone piles on that individual and says how awful he/she is and that he/she should be fired. The standards shouldn't be different simply due to fame.

R2, I think it's a safe bet since half the people watching "Girls" were probably wondering when Brian grew his hair out and enjoyed getting his ass eaten.

R4, because he also goes out to do stories and if he's lying about his own experiences, why should anyone believe him when he's reporting? He also lied when he claimed Hezbollah shot at his plane. These kinds of myths are dangerous and exploitative. You can't take these things lightly. He was part of spreading the lies that even got us into war.
