Two very entertaining movies. I do think the Exorcist is one haunting piece of work, 2001 will be my choice because it's just so darn beautiful to look at.

Many say The Exorcist is the scariest movie ever made. I agree. Many say 2001:ASO is the best movie ever made. I agree as well. And better is better than scary ;)

Almost the greatest sci-fi film of all-time versus the definitive scariest film of all-time. Exorcist takes the cake on this one, but just barely.

Just to tell you how big of a masterful artistic and atmospheric work 2001 a Space Odyssey is, even as a horror fanatic I would still pick this film over The Exorcist. Those who complain about or despise this film are either in denial with their own moral or cannot comprehend the universal message of the film.
