Why would you advertise this trashy show on the Datalounge?

You're fucking weird.

by Anonymousreply 2August 17, 2023 7:32 PM

r2 Because it features gay characters, a camp sensibility, the showrunner is a homo, the first two seasons got lots of discussion...?

What a bizarre response, I've never come across one like it in the twenty years I've been on DL. You must be new around here.

by Anonymousreply 3August 17, 2023 7:35 PM

I've been here on the DL for 25 years, hon, is that long enough for you?

by Anonymousreply 4August 17, 2023 7:41 PM

It's because I rarely watch television at all, I guess. I always watch the news and then binge-watch a few shows a year when I have that tv-jones. It's not often.

I see you guys advertising these weird shows on the DL all the time but I've never actually watched any of them. They just seem as though they wouldn't hold my attention. Thank you for restoring my faith in the DL. It's nice to know that "Chucky" is a campy, fun, gay show instead of Chucky Weirdness and Gore, which is what I thought it was like.

by Anonymousreply 6August 17, 2023 8:01 PM

R6 You should watch all of the films & then watch the series. It has lots of Easter eggs for the film fans & it's one of my favorite shows being made. The Chucky threads are very popular on here after an episode airs.

by Anonymousreply 7August 17, 2023 9:02 PM

Thanks, I don't know if I'm up for all that, R7, but I'll probably give it a look now.

by Anonymousreply 8August 17, 2023 9:06 PM

I’m looking forward to it - I just hope that the main character’s boyfriend looks a little older this season. Last season they looked like a 17 year old and a 13 year old

by Anonymousreply 9August 17, 2023 9:13 PM

Well R8 Seasons 1 & 2 had 8 episodes each so it's not like you have 44 to watch (just 16).

If you have a good ad blocker you can watch them all in a day.

by Anonymousreply 10August 17, 2023 9:17 PM

He recommended the movies as well, I don't know how many of them there are but an entire day of watching Chucky (or any tv show) seems like too much to me. When I binge watch it's usually one or two episodes at a time, it's just that I only watch one show.

I'll take a look because it's been described as campy and funny and gay but too much tv at any one time gets on my nerves. It's just not my thing.

by Anonymousreply 11August 17, 2023 9:25 PM

So R11 have you watched any in the past several weeks?

by Anonymousreply 12September 26, 2023 5:29 AM

It's back on Oct. 4th (just 8 days away).

Any new show gossip to report on here?

by Anonymousreply 13September 26, 2023 7:08 PM

Hope they continue the trope of killing off everyone's parents, and any adult who enters the series for more than four minutes.

by Anonymousreply 14September 26, 2023 8:00 PM

I hope that Devon Sawa comes back (again) for season three.

I love that they keep killing him off every season, and then bringing him back.

by Anonymousreply 15October 3, 2023 3:09 PM

r13 No gossip, but I saw a review on AV Club earlier today, calling it the best season yet. I loved the first one, but thought the second one was kinda ass, so I'm hopeful.

Also, I defended him during the first season, but the actor playing Jake... let's just say he wasn't a thespian in ANY of his previous lives. His couple of second in the trailer are atrocious.

by Anonymousreply 16October 3, 2023 3:19 PM

R15 They cast his as the new Prez in the Season 3 DC arc.

I like him but this stunt is getting old. How about bringing Nadine back who was robbed of many great future episodes?

by Anonymousreply 17October 3, 2023 6:38 PM

Are you kidding, R17?

Devon Sawa's Priest character exploding was my favorite scene in all of season two!

Rofl.

This series is SO much better than American Horror Story.

So much more entertaining, better acting, and better stories.

Don Mancini > Ryan Murphy.

I wonder what would happen if these two gay horror queens ever collaborated?

That might actually be good.

by Anonymousreply 19October 5, 2023 5:23 AM

I'm getting some "vibes" between the teenaged son and his Secret Service agent.

Anyone else?

Devon Sawa is fit as fuck!

He looks great in his Presidential suits, and his ass is divine.

New episode tonight.

Jake and Devon are going to have penetrative anal sex at some point during the season!

It'll be the new "Love, Victor."

by Anonymousreply 22October 12, 2023 2:32 AM

That almost sex scene was hilarious.

I loved the teacher/guardian talking to Jake and Devon about bath houses, anal penetration, and topping and bottoming.

Rofl.

It's good that the writers are building anticipation about them having sex. It's more fun.

by Anonymousreply 23October 12, 2023 5:41 AM

The 2nd episode was a big letdown even with a couple of victims.

I think the premise of the 1st lady hiding dead bodies is so dumb.

by Anonymousreply 24October 12, 2023 8:26 PM

Is Chucky D.O.A. on the DL this season?

by Anonymousreply 25October 14, 2023 1:45 AM

Now which of those boys are they going to try and pass of as a top

by Anonymousreply 26October 15, 2023 2:08 AM

I think it'll be Jake, R26.

Devon was already on his back and ready to be mounted by Jake, when the teacher and Lexi walked in.

Plus, Devon has a skinny twink body and Jake has been lifting weights.

I love this show!

I thought the little nod to "Call Me By Your Name" was fun. I bet Don Mancini is a DLer!

by Anonymousreply 28October 15, 2023 5:57 PM

Jake looks all grown up this season.

by Anonymousreply 29October 15, 2023 6:32 PM

Yeah, R29.

And Devon finally looks older than 12.

He has filled out a bit.

by Anonymousreply 30October 15, 2023 7:41 PM

R30 It still creeps me out to see them together. Devon should be the one with personal trainer 24/7.

by Anonymousreply 31October 15, 2023 7:58 PM

R31 there was a cute scene last season where the old nun was fitting the three teens for school uniforms and she asked Devon his waist size.

He replies "27."

She then says, "Young man, YOU are UNDER WEIGHT!"

And he says to her in a cute excited voice, "Thank you!"

I thought that was hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 32October 15, 2023 8:08 PM

Excited for tomorrow's episode!

by Anonymousreply 33October 18, 2023 4:52 AM

Me too R33.

Jake and Devon are going to look so cute dressed up in their Halloween costumes going to the White House gala.

From the previews, it looks like they're dressed as Good Guy dolls.

by Anonymousreply 34October 18, 2023 8:56 PM

I would say that this was the season the show jumped the shark. Apparently only 4 of the 8 episodes are airing this year.

by Anonymousreply 35October 18, 2023 9:23 PM

The dude who plays Jake is a body builder. His Instagram documents it. He comes across as someone with body dysmorphic disorder. They’re keep having to come up with inventive ways of hiding his huge physique in this show.

by Anonymousreply 36October 18, 2023 9:25 PM

R35, I hope that's not true. I purchased the entire season for that reason alone -- to support it a little.

by Anonymousreply 37October 18, 2023 9:32 PM

I'm kinda sad Mrs. Nice Teacher Lady died, but I guess she had to get out of the way so she couldn't block the kids from their little escapades.

by Anonymousreply 38October 18, 2023 9:36 PM

[quote] I'm kinda sad Mrs. Nice Teacher Lady died, but I guess she had to get out of the way so she couldn't block the kids from their little escapades.

It's hilarious because all of their parents and foster parents end up dead!!

They should just be independent already.

I would say they're going to be 18 soon, but that's not really true.

I like that Don Mancini went with age appropriate actors, but both Zack Arthur (Jake) and Bjorgvin Arnarson (Devon) were born in 2005 so they won't be 18 until next year.

And Alyvia is only 16! She won't be 18 until 2025. (Which makes it hilarious that the writers had her snorting Oxy last season)

So clearly, they still need to be in foster homes until at least next season.

If tradition holds, then the President (Devon Sawa) is going to get killed by Chucky, and probably his wife too.

I really hope that the twink teenaged son who plays Grant (Jackson Kelly) joins Jake, Devon and Lexi in their misadventures with Chucky. He would be a good addition to the show, and would be a good love interest for Lexi, since Jake and Devon are a couple.

From the Chucky Wiki page:

[quote] On January 15, 2023, the series was renewed for a third season. Despite the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, filming began in Toronto on April 27 of that year. It was expected to continue through August, however in mid-July production was interrupted due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. The season will be split into two parts, with the first half airing in October 2023 and the other half airing in 2024.

Omg Chucky's dream was fucking hilarious.

When he was dreaming of killing Andy, Chucky said "I've always dreamed of this. You're my white whale. You're my Moby Dickhead!"

Then Andy says, "Are you really trying to make a literary reference?"

To which Chucky replies "No. It was a fat joke."

ROFL!!!!

As the camera pans to Andy's huge gut.

Omg.... that had me dying.

by Anonymousreply 41October 19, 2023 5:15 AM

That Austin Butler joke was hilarious.

Butthead must be fuming!

by Anonymousreply 42October 19, 2023 6:01 PM

Nia Vardalos looks so different!

Was it Ozempic?

Damn, she looks unrecognizable.

by Anonymousreply 44October 26, 2023 5:51 AM

The Tiffany stuff was so silly and juvenile, yet I can't help but enjoy the campiness of it all. How hot was that male prison guard?

Zackary Arthur's acting really is just so shitty, he even walks shittily. Shame because he has a killer bod now.

The actor playing VP's older son, Jackson Kelly, has such wig-like hair, it trips me out to no end. I looked him up and that is indeed his hair.

Shame we have to wait until next year to see the remainder of the season.

by Anonymousreply 45October 27, 2023 2:52 PM

Oh, and I can't believe that was Nia Vardalos of the Greek Wedding fame. What the fuck, how delightfully random.

by Anonymousreply 46October 27, 2023 2:54 PM

The kids looked so cute in their "Good Guy" costumes.

by Anonymousreply 47October 28, 2023 1:45 PM

I had a hard time placing Devon Sawa. I kept thinking Anthony Michael Hall had some work done to his face.

by Anonymousreply 48October 29, 2023 3:02 PM

They kill off Devon Sawa every season, but how are they going to do it this season, since he's the President of the United States?

That would be a bit ..... controversial. Wouldn't it?

by Anonymousreply 49October 30, 2023 2:38 AM

Or not. He is the first Independent president, after all. I think most people would just shrug and chalk it up to this being an experiment. You guys over there love calling the whole thing "the American experiment" already, don't you? Well, just add this to the pile as well.

by Anonymousreply 50October 30, 2023 9:27 PM

R49 Chucky will arrange for a call girl to enter the White House & the prez will be talking to her & he'll kill them both.

The prez will get slaughtered but the girl will be fed a cocktail earlier that will end her soon after the prez dies. It'll look like she did everything.
